My Coach
My name is Susan Hines and I met Coach Berry almost 2 years ago. I was a 42 year old mom who had never had a regular exercise routine. With 3 kids and a very busy life, I was getting very discouraged with my constant weight gain and lack of energy. Pain in my right knee and hip was causing me to limp for 1 to 3 hours each morning. I had joined the YMCA, but I never went because I did not know what to do in the gym. I had never gone to a gym or lifted weights in my life and was very intimidated by it.
I saw Coach Berry’s ad in a magazine and I kept it for about 2 months. Finally, I got the nerve to call and make an appointment. I went to the gym and walked into the front office, but got so nervous that I left. I was almost home when my cell phone rang. I answered it, and to my surprise it was Coach Berry asking me where I was. He talked me into coming back and the second I met him I was at ease. He was so kind. Immediately, he put me on the treadmill. Except for vacations and illness, I have been on that treadmill, exercise program and nutrition plan nearly every day since!
Coach Berry’s knowledge of exercise and nutrition is amazing. He knows just what each individual needs to reach their full potential. It is not just his expertise in exercise that makes his gym such a special place. It is also his kind heart and his desire for everyone to succeed. He greets everyone as they enter the gym and genuinely wants to know how you are doing. If things are not well, he will do whatever he can to make it better. I have known him to call and e-mail clients when they do not show up after a couple of days. If he does not get a response he will visit them at home! He has brought exercise equipment to the homes of clients when they have been unable to attend the gym due to health reasons. He really cares about his clients.
Coach Berry has made a profoundly positive difference in my life. I no longer have any pain in my knee and hip and my family and friends are always commenting on how happy they are for me. I have never been in better shape and more confident in myself, and I owe it all to Coach Berry.
